Stripe + Sidebox

Keep payments, refunds, disputes, and current MRR next to the app that earns them.

Connection method

Restricted API key

Connect in your workspace

How to connect

  1. In your Stripe Dashboard, create a restricted API key. Grant Read for Account, Charges, Disputes, Subscriptions, and Products; leave other permissions off.

  2. Choose Stripe in Sidebox's Workspace Connections and paste the restricted key. Sidebox accepts rk_live_ and rk_test_ keys, not secret or publishable keys.

  3. Sidebox validates the required reads and stores the key encrypted. Map the connected Stripe account to one project; test keys are clearly labelled.

Permissions and why we use them

These are the permissions used by Sidebox's current connection. Review the provider's authorization screen or key settings before granting access.

Account: Read
Validate the key and identify the Stripe account it belongs to.
Charges: Read
Read completed and failed payments, gross sales, refund amounts, and recent payment activity.
Disputes: Read
Show disputed payments and currently open disputes.
Subscriptions: Read
Read subscription status, recurring prices, quantities, and discounts for current MRR and subscription movement.
Products: Read
Read product names for subscription and payment context.

Disconnecting and revoking access

Disconnecting removes the key from Sidebox but does not revoke it in Stripe. Delete or roll the restricted key in your Stripe Dashboard to revoke access.

Disconnecting does not delete the underlying data in Stripe. See our data handling page for Sidebox's retention and deletion behavior.
