GitHub + Sidebox
Keep repository activity, releases, CI health, and security alerts beside the product they belong to.
How to connect
Open Workspace Connections in Sidebox and choose GitHub.
Install the Sidebox GitHub App on your personal account or organization. Choose the repositories you want to share and review the read permissions.
Return to Sidebox and map one primary repository to a project. Sidebox fetches its first snapshot.
Permissions and why we use them
These are the permissions used by Sidebox's current connection. Review the provider's authorization screen or key settings before granting access.
- Metadata: Read
- Identify accessible repositories, their visibility, default branch, and native dashboard links.
- Contents: Read
- Read commit metadata, releases, and commit activity. This permission also permits repository-content access, although Sidebox does not download your source files for these summaries.
- Pull requests: Read
- Show open pull request counts and the oldest open pull requests.
- Issues: Read
- Show the open issue count.
- Actions: Read
- Read workflow runs to show CI pass rate and failing workflows on the default branch.
- Dependabot alerts: Read
- Show vulnerability alert severity and counts when alerts are available for the repository.
Disconnecting and revoking access
Disconnecting stops Sidebox from refreshing this connection. To revoke the installation at GitHub, uninstall the Sidebox App or change its repository access in GitHub settings.
Disconnecting does not delete the underlying data in GitHub. See our data handling page for Sidebox's retention and deletion behavior.
